Our service uses a simple automated workflow that verifies compliance quickly and efficiently. Below is an example of how PlacardPass uses digital and observable information to validate compliance.

Inputs

PlacardPass accepts two primary inputs:

Bill of Lading

Digital Information (Shipment)

This information can be entered automatically or manually.

Observable Information (Placards and Marks)

This information can be read off the truck or container via camera or manually entered at a kiosk or with a hand-held device.

Outputs

PlacardPass provides two primary outputs:

Validation

The combination of digital and observable information is validated. A RED flag (invalid indication) or GREEN flag (valid indication) is returned.

Compliance

Compliant shipping combinations are calculated based on applicable regulations (49 CFR, IMDG Code).

Integration Options

Transportation Logistics Software

Hazmat shippers and carriers that use software to generate and manage transportation operations can benefit from built in compliance checks. The software can be integrated with PlacardPass via API. PlacardPass can provide compliance options to help with pre-transportation decision-making or can be used to check compliance, all before transportation.

Transportation Logistics Software

By integrating with our service, shippers, freight forwarders, and carriers can pre-check placards or request compliant placard options to ensure that their shipments will be in full compliance while in transportation. Placard options are available for U.S. DOT compliance and international (IMDG Code) compliance. Users can access our service through their existing logistics software as an add-in. With a simple click, data is sent to our service, and we return essential placard compliance information.

Gate Software

Secure facilities and intermodal terminals often use software to manage entry. Whether it is a self-service kiosk or a fully automated gate, integration with PlacardPass can verify compliance and help facilitate quicker entry by eliminating the need for manual inspections.

PlacardPass can be deployed at intermodal terminals, secure facilities, and port facilities. Whether it is a full- or self-service kiosk or gate, these are placard compliance verification points. By integrating our service with existing gate software, shipments can move quickly through these gates. Our service can accept direct input from the gate operator or driver at Kiosks or bill of lading data can be sent ahead of time and, with the use of cameras, placards can be read off the truck to verify compliance.
